For ALL LEADERS - CUB SCOUT, BOY SCOUT, VENTURING:

Tom Sheely, Tom Volek and several others already have dedicated a number of hours to develop a visible and important 100th Anniversary project in Lawrence that will help demonstrate the commitment of Scouting to the other members of our community.  WE NEED EVERY UNIT'S SUPPORT to make this project successful.

Please - book this new date on your unit and personal calendars and enthusiastically promote this to your Scouts.  This project WELCOMES support from not just the Scouts and their leaders, but the entire Scouting family - parents, siblings and other friends and relatives - plus Scout alumni who want to reconnect with Scouting during this anniversary year.

Plan now on how to incorporate this event into your unit's advancement and activities schedule to make this a fun family event for all of your Scouts.  Remember to include the requirements for the special 100th Anniversary "ribbon" patch activities in your plans to participate in the Burroughs Creek landscaping project.

Thanks for helping to make 2010 a special year for Scouting in Douglas County.

Frank Wright

District Chair

To all Pelathe Unit Leaders,

Because of our snowy and cold winter, Lawrence Parks and Recreation has been unable to complete the Burroughs Creek Trail to the point where it can be landscaped.

Therefore we are moving the Community Good Turn Project to May 8th. We know that this is also Webelo's Graduation weekend but we are hoping the our Webelos can still help on the project in the morning.

We will have a new sign-up sheet at the March Roundtable.

Complete plans, assignments and further details about the project will be sent out by mid-April.

We know that some units will now be able to participate that had conflicts with the previous April date.

Your in Scouting

Tom Sheely and Tom Volek
